The challenge we set out to solve
Municipal information reaches residents through whatever channel happens to be available — a Facebook post, a notice on a wall, word of mouth — which means it reaches some people and not others, and there is no authoritative record of what was announced or when. Council decisions, service procedures and announcements need one official source. The constraint is that municipal staff are not technical, so any system requiring developer involvement to publish a notice will be abandoned within a month.
